The SOMDIAA Group CEO's New Year greetings E-mail

a_vilgrain2011 was not such an easy year for the SOMDIAA Group but the return of peace in the Ivory Coast was the good news that eventually helped people forget about drought issues in Congo and Cameroon, high wheat prices and changing regulation frameworks; which challenged the marketing of sugar.

Nevertheless, the SOMDIAA Group pursued its development.

2012 should prove a constructive year helping us maintain a sustained activity including through the following:

- The end of the expansion works project at the SGMC mill in Cameroon, which will give the whole team a major challenge to take up;
- The finalization of the cattle feed unit at SMAG in Gabon;
- The new mill construction project at COGEDAL in Reunion Island;
- Lastly, the implementation of sugar plant development projects in the sugar business.

In addition, several major projects could be implemented to help us become one of the first key players on the continent, maybe the first one in this industry. We have the will and the courage to make it.

As its tools become ever more modern and innovating the SOMDIAA Group drives its operations in growth businesses and contributes to food independence in the countries where it invests, thus making everything it can to reach that objective.

I wish every team of the SOMDIAA Group in Chad, Central Africa, Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, the Ivory Coast and France a happy new year 2012!
